Looking to renovate your deck to take advantage of these lovely summer days? Check out these tips and you'll have your deck looking perfect in no time!

Plants - First things first! One of the easiest deck upgrades is buying a few plants to spruce things up. Make sure to do a bit of research to get plants that will work with the amount of sunshine your deck receives. I killed a few snapdragons on my first go-around.
Umbrella - Our south-facing deck had us feeling like ants under a magnifying glass on a summer afternoon. We bought the most phenomenal umbrella, built specifically to fit a small deck! It's basically a half-umbrella. Who knew this existed?
Convertible Furniture - We love our new table - which is large enough to eat dinner on, but folds up and out of our way, if we aren't using it!
New Wood - And, finally, if you have a deck as old as ours (that hadn't even been treated, as far as I could tell!) it might be time to replace the whole darned thing! Our "composite" is easier to clean, more durable, and doesn't cause splinters!
